XRF, the only Spanish startup selected for the European Commission’s first defense startup accelerator

XRF has been selected to join the first cohort of the EUDIS Business Accelerator, a new acceleration program backed by the European Commission and made up of 20 pioneering defense startups. XRF, a Canary Islands–born tech company at the forefront of using Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive decision-making in complex scenarios, is the only Spanish company chosen out of 400 applications across Europe.

The Business Accelerator is part of the European Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), a flagship initiative of the European Defence Fund (EDF) aimed at boosting defense innovation and supporting the growth and financing of startups and SMEs in the EU and Norway. The program has hand-picked the most disruptive companies with strategic relevance and strong potential to contribute to Europe’s defense ecosystem in line with EU priorities.

This recognition marks a strategic milestone for XRF, positioning the company as a European reference in the development of AI and next-generation technologies for defense and security. XRF will represent Spain alongside startups from Germany, Latvia, Norway, Estonia, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Lithuania, and Belgium.

Through the program, XRF will benefit from personalized support from the European Commission, including mentoring by defense experts, specialized training, and access to strategic resources to strengthen its market readiness. The eight-month accelerator—set to kick off on June 16 at the Paris Air Show—includes six immersive bootcamps held alongside Europe’s top defense events, expert-led workshops, networking opportunities with investors and Ministries of Defense, and access to operational test facilities.
