At XRF, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of secure communications and immersive systems for critical operations. Diario EL PAÍS recently published an article on the growing impact of quantum technologies and Telefónica leadership in this field with its new Quantum Technologies Center of Excellence. One of the highlights was a unique demo at MWC Barcelona 2025, where a submarine was remotely controlled from Barcelona in real time using a private 5G network secured with post-quantum encryption.
We are proud to have been part of this milestone alongside Telefónica and SubSea Mechatronics, S.L. At XRF, we contributed our expertise in XR systems and secure operational environments to showcase how post-quantum cryptography—encryption methods designed to withstand attacks from future quantum computers—can protect critical communications for defense and intelligence operations.
Post-quantum encryption is not just an upgrade to today’s security standards. It’s a new paradigm that anticipates the power of quantum computing, ensuring that sensitive data and real-time control systems remain safe even when traditional encryption becomes vulnerable.
Our mission is to keep exploring how these technologies can be integrated into next-generation tactical systems, immersive training, and critical infrastructures, reinforcing resilience and European technological sovereignty.
